Project description
The former villa of the Mayor of Hoofddorp had already been in use as office space for a law firm.
The offices they left behind was all but the open office space that Dupon had in mind.
What Dupon had in mind was a modern open office environment surprising its visitors by the contrast between the outside and the interior.
In order to prepare the villa for its open office function a vide, giving light and space, was created at the entrance. Big open work spaces were created by knocking down as much walls as possible. Light colours were chosen for the walls, floors and office furniture. Thus not only creating space but also forming a neutral basis for the few brightly coloured elements that were added. Acoustic panels on the walls were given such a bright colour, as well as the reception furniture and a sofa in the management office.
Circulation is clear. The red stairs in the hallway cannot be missed. From the entrance the main meeting room in the back of the office can already be perceived. A continuing print on the wall in the staircase enhances the total hight and depth of the villa.
