Studio Ramin Visch was established in 1998.
A professional team up to five employees with an office in Amsterdam.
Field of activity
Our projects are best described as large scale interior projects.
Projects vary from a cinema to an espressobar, apartments, furniture,
offices and exhibitions. Large part of our projects is realized in
industrial heritage or industrial monuments.
Design aproach
The old and new are clearly kept separate, both in materialization and
volume. This clear distinction between new and old, enhances both.
Although the function of the building changes, itŐs spaceousness and
character are preserved and remain omnipresent throughout the building.
Together with a team of architects, constructors, acoustics- and light experts
we are involved during all phases of the process, from design until delivery.

Vanaf nu wordt NPS Arena uitgezonden vanuit bioscoop Het Ketelhuis
Iedere zondag presenteert Hadassah de Boer tussen 17.00 en 19.00 op Nederland 2 het kunst- en cultuurprogramma van de NPS: NPS Arena. In het programma worden livegesprekken afgewisseld met documentaires over dans en klassieke muziek met een grote rol voor jazz-, soul-, crossover en wereldmuziek.

Vanaf donderdag 31 augustus is de eerste film in de vernieuwde bioscoop te zien. Op 13 september was de officiële heropening.

Espressobar ´Espressofabriek´ in de architect mei 2006

Ramin Visch transformed the former boiler house of the Amsterdam Westergasfabriek into a cinema and its former western gasmeter house into an espresso bar. Like sculptural boxes, new volumes accommodating the main programs were slid into the existing buildings of the two national monuments. The now completed espresso bar is called Espressofabriek and has 52 m2 of floor space. Visch placed the box, including toilets, bar, storage room and a staircase to the roof of the box, lengthwise in the building. The roof offers space for tables and chairs. The materials used for the box contrast with the materials used in the original design.

Chair 'ELI' at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2006 in Milan
The Design. My aim was to design a chair with an integrated frame and covering, but without creating a composite material. I wanted it to be a chair with no hidden technology -- a chair that shows what it is made of and how it functions. A special steel of high stiffness was used. The chair had to return to its original shape however often it was used. Wool felt was applied around the steel. The shape of the seat adjusts to the sitter's body, so providing greater comfort.

Tentoonstelling 'NU BINNEN de Nederlandse huiskamer herontworpen' in de Zuiderkerk te Amsterdam
In "between Curtains" materialiseert Ramin Visch verschillende ruimtelijke oplossingen al naar gelang de sociale functie. Ruimtes in een huis zijn veelal voor één bepaalde functie ontworpen. In een keuken kook je, in een badkamer badder je. De woonkamer heeft velerlei functies en ligt tussen privé en openbaar in. Je ontvangt er je gasten of trekt je er juist terug. Eén ruimte biedt de mogelijkheid om voor elke sociale hoedanigheid; ontmoeten en terugtrekken, de ideale omstandigheden te creëren. Mede mogelijk gemaakt door Ahrend, G-Rail by Goelst, Enia Carpets en firma de Ploeg.

Tentoonstelling 'Vis-Vitalis' genomineerd voor de Nederlandse Designprijs 2005.
Bij de tentoonstelling Vis bereiken de ontwerpers op hoogst effectieve wijze wat zij willen, rust. De kleurrijke, in de ruimte geplaatste dozen zorgen voor een serene atmosfeer en zuigen je naar een intieme ervaring met de schilderijen. Een schoolvoorbeeld van maximaal effect met minimale middelen.

Zomer 2006 zal de nieuwe bioscoop Het Ketelhuis op dezelfde locatie zijn deuren openen.
De nieuwe bioscoop heeft drie zalen en een ruime horeca.
Zaterdag 28 mei zijn de laatste voorstellingen in de huidige bioscoop Het Ketelhuis.
